The Izzy Bee Walk
The Izzy Bee Walk began as a joint fundraising effort between Isabelle’s high school HOSA Club, bowling team, and RaiseRed at the University of Louisville. Our first walk was in September 2023, 5 months after Isabelle’s passing.
The event is now held annually each September in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month at North Bullitt High School. In addition to raising funds for RaiseRed and their efforts to fight pediatric cancer, we also host a blood drive during the walk.
This years walk will be held on September 26, 2026. Check back for more information soon!
Reflections
The Izzy Bee Walk is also an amazing opportunity for students in our community to give back to their community in a meaningful way.
Being able to work the Izzy-Bee walk was a great opportunity and I got to see all the support the community has for Isabelle, her family, and the cause. I got to feel connected with Isabelle and honor her memory- Jordan McCloskey, Isabelle’s Best Friend
Participating in the Izzy-Bee walk has been one of the most meaningful parts of my high school experience. It’s incredibly powerful to see our entire school come together, outside of the classroom, to stand behind such an important cause. Walking for RaiseRed has taught me the power of community and given me a deeper sense of purpose during my time in high school.—Jiya Patel
Volunteering for causes in Isabelle’s name has really taught me a lot about community support. Seeing people come together for the same cause showed me that you never know the circumstances of other people and how communities can come together and support one another in difficult times. Working different events feels like contributing to a greater cause, to help other people and their families while honoring Isabelle-Gabriella Bowman
